Film and Talk: Cost of Growth

FILM SCREENING: the Cost of Growth – Who Owns the Economy?

Straßburger Straße 55, 10405 Berlin

We’re joined by filmmaker Lena Hartog in the fabulous Kino & Bar in der Königstadt to watch and discuss the film the Cost of Growth

Apocalypse Pre-Drinks is organising a movie night!

We gather on the 21st of August for the movie and a Q&A with filmmaker Lena Hartog, asking: „Who Owns the Economy?“.

Our venue will be in the heart of Mitte, Berlin: the fabulous Kino & Bar in der Königstadt – a cinema known for its sustainable interior materials, perfect sound, and its rare Samsung Onyx LED screen.

We’ll watch the movie and discuss its implications for the society we witness today, as well as the future we dread and dream of. After the Q&A, we’ll retire to the Kino’s Bar to continue the conversation over a FREE Quartiermeister*in alc free beer per (one per ticket), donated by the ECG Berlin-Brandenburg, who will also present their organisation and mission ahead of the film.

About the Film:
The Cost of Growth challenges Europe’s growth story by exposing the extractive systems it relies on and the communities that pay the price.

With an international cast, the film (90 minutes) connects struggles in Serbia, Italy, and Sápmi to wider fights for justice – showing how communities resist extraction, build solidarities, and expose the violence behind Europe’s economy.
